IMPROVING OUTCOMES IN PATIENTS WITH REFRACTORY IDIOPATHIC AND NEUROGENIC DETRUSOR OVERACTIVITY: MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES AND PATIENT PERSPECTIVES
Neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) is commonly seen in patients who have neurologic conditions such as spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and cerebrovascular accident/stroke - who are commonly managed by physiatrists - physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists. NDO has significant medical, economic, and social impact, yet management remains suboptimal. This program provided participants with information on diagnosis and evidence-based treatment strategies, as well as expert insight on how, as members of a multidisciplinary care team, they can help reduce the burden of NDO by integrating patient perspectives into management plans.
