PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS: UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE OF NEW AND EMERGING THERAPIES TARGETING THE INFLAMMATORY CASCADE
This interactive, case-based, web monograph provides a comprehensive review of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and is enhanced by a pathophysiology video that illustrates how the cytokine network is active in inflammation, joint destruction, and new bone formation and how established, newly approved, and emerging biologic agents specifically target cytokine drivers of inflammation and joint destruction. Expert rheumatology faculty review diagnostic criteria, monitoring PsA activity, applying treat-to-target guidelines, relevant clinical efficacy and safety data for new and emerging agents, and the implications of comorbidities in managing PsA.
This expert interview on rheumatoid arthritis is a case-illustrated review of the treatment of moderate to severe disease using the 2015 American College of Rheumatology guidelines, focusing on the assessment of disease activity to guide therapy decisions. The roles of newly approved and emerging agents in the treatment armamentarium and the management of rheumatoid arthritis in patients with comorbidities are also highlighted in the informative discussion with the host.
Early diagnosis of giant cell arteritis is critical to preventing blindness and other complications of this potentially debilitating rheumatologic disease, which afflicts predominantly older women and men. The expert faculty for this monograph will compare the 2 variants of this disease, review imaging techniques, and describe findings suggestive of giant cell arteritis, all with an eye toward expediting diagnosis. Also to be discussed: insights on tapering glucocorticoid therapy while avoiding relapse and medication-related adverse events, and the potential role of emerging second-line therapies.

Giant cell arteritis is a potentially debilitating rheumatologic disease that afflicts predominantly older men and women. Early diagnosis and vigilant management of the disease are critical to preventing or halting vision loss. The expert faculty for this webinar will discuss strategies for diagnosis, initial treatment, and management of giant cell arteritis. The overall prognosis for the disease will be discussed, as will emerging second-line therapies that may soon provide additional treatment options.
